Pine Creek Rail Trail
The Pine Creek Rail Trail is open for 41 miles from Ansonia to Waterville. The first part (Ansonia to Rattlesnake Rock (just south of Blackwell) is 19 miles. The second part, just opened in June of 2001, is 22 miles (Rattlesnake Rock to Waterville). The trail follows the old rail bed along the bottom of the Pine Creek Gorge. It has a crushed limestone surface suitable for most types of bicycles.
Trail will soon be open all the way to Jersey Mills over 100 miles.
